Dirty Pint Photo Shoot.

Jose Vanders

After the first XX Art with Jose Vanders being cancelled due to bad weather, it was fortunately rescheduled and took place last night. Considering it was a sunday night, the venue was nicely packed out. I enjoyed the first acts but for months now i’ve been waiting to see Jose Vanders live. As she took to the stage, i pushed my way to the front and listened intently, as soon as she kick started with Metal Detector I was literally mesmerised. I wasn’t the only one either, the crowd was practically silent and a group of young girls were stood at the very front singing along word for word. It was such a good atmosphere and she was a really lovely girl as well. Full interview in Dirty Pint.

MexicoFALLZ Reunion 2012

I headed down to Beacon Court with a few pals to go and see one of our favourite ever bands. MexicoFALLZ are a fairly local band but before they split, they’d really started to make it big, touring and supporting more famous bands. So many people were devastated when the band announced the split! I’d never seen them live before and had always heard how amazing they were and what an atmosphere they brought to the stage. I was so excited to see them play as was everyone but there was a level of mourning unfortunately as guitarist and best friend to the other band mates Marcus Rutherford had passed away a few weeks previous to this.

Following from what Marcus would have wanted, one of his friends took his place on stage and the lads gave tribute in such a spectacular form. The crowd was amazing, the show was unstoppable and the whole night left me feeling weak at the knees. The reunion tour came about by one of their friends facebook raping them. Fingers crossed it happens again!!! check out Dirty Pint magazine for the full review of this gig.

Timeless in the woods.

I was asked to model for photographer Michael Palmer for his new collection at Timeless Clothing. Timeless Clothing is an independent clothing line which was started about 6 months ago and has already been featured twice in Front magazine and is selling to countries all across the world. We headed to Cobham to do the shoot in the woods, which was such a good location that Palmer has now decided to use it for a music video he’s shooting.

Art of Front Exhibition

So unfortunately it’s taken me a while to catch up on my blog, but the other week I headed down to Camden with two of my pals to go and see the Art of Front exhibition. We stopped off at The Good Mixer, which was the coolest, quirkiest little pub i’ve ever been to and it actually used to be Amy Winehouse’s local. From there, we walked down the road to The Black Heart pub, which was where the exhibition was being held. The space was upstairs and was a fairly big sized room that showed off the artwork well because it wasn’t crowded. The exhibition was showcasing different artists that had remastered previous photo’s of the front models and turned them into their own paintings. There were Vans trainers that had been painted over and also casts of some of the model’s boobs that had also been painted over. These are actually being auctioned off to raise money for breast cancer charities.

These are just a few of the photo’s I took that won’t be featuring in the magazine.

ALT mag (Fashion meets Front)

Hey, so my name’s Emma and i’m a third year fashion student. For my final major project, i’m making an alternative fashion, music and lifestyle magazine and the idea behind this blog is to basically document what goes on behind the scene’s..

The idea’s behind this magazine have stemmed from market research based around me and my friends. I’m a typical girl, i love magazines and fashion, however when it comes to alternative fashion, there’s not really anything other than Front. Now don’t get me wrong, i’m a huge fan of Front but I do get a slight feeling of awkwardness when I go to the counter to purchase it and there’s a naked girl on the front cover.

Since finalising my idea, I’ve spent my time networking with as many people as I can in order to collaborate with and get them on board my alternative mag. So far i’ve been chatting to a few photographer’s, up and coming musicians and event managers as well as the creators of Timeless Clothing. Watch this space!
